St Breward's Just Giving Table - Take what you need - Give what you can

Just Giving Table

A community needs to work together to survive, especially in these difficult times where living costs are rising much faster than incomes. So, when St Breward Parish Council was asked if they would support a community Food Bank, they decided to act. With the help of St Breward Church, we have set up a Just Giving Table at the rear of the Church, where we hope that those who can afford it, will donate basic grocery items for those who are struggling to take what they need. The PC has purchased some suitable groceries to kick off our Just Giving Table.

There is no shame in needing to use our Just Giving Table; we are all part of this caring, supportive St Breward Community; it is just through circumstances that some of us are struggling.

You could be next!

The table will provide a selection of food and non-food items to help members of our Parish who are in need.

The table will contain items donated by parishioners as well as items funded by the Parish Council. Parishioners will be able to attend the Church during opening hours to take items required.

Hours: the Church will be open daily from 10am -4pm and the table will be stocked each morning.

This scheme will be in place for 6 months from January to June 2023 and then a review will be undertaken.

Items required for the table:

All food items must be provided in tins/secure containers Food Items required are non-perishable items - soup, pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes, jars of pasta sauce, tins of lentils, beans & pulses, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, UHT milk, cartons of fruit juice, baby food.

Non-food items:

Toiletries – deodorant, toilet paper, shower gel, shaving gel, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, Household items – laundry liquid detergent, laundry powder, washing up liquid Feminine products – sanitary towels and tampons.

Volunteers are required to check that all products are in date and to restock the table.

If you are interested in helping to monitor the table, please call Christine Lusby on 01208 850517.

Let us work together to make sure that no member of our community is struggling alone.

Denis Lusby, Chairman St Breward Parish Council
